Thursday, January 21,  7PM, Guilderland Public Library, 2228 Western Avenue, Guilderland, NY. Remembering Gaza - One Year Later. Please join us  for a presentation by Elliott Adams, past President of Veterans for Peace, to learn about the situation in Gaza. Nine months after the Winter Attack on Gaza (2008/9), Elliott Adams traveled to Gaza with Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility and Veterans For Peace. The delegation met with government officials, educational institutions, NGOs, student groups, cultural centers, medical institutions, and ordinary citizens to learn about Gaza. Elliott will present photos of his trip and lead a discussion of current events. (518) 456-2400                 Sponsored by Guilderland Neighbors for Peace

Our monthly meeting was held on 01/18/10. Lou I., Lou S., Dan W. and John A. were present. Many of our group were away for the holiday. We discussed establishing a written criteria for giving the  Winter Soldier Peace and Justice Award. One idea suggested was to allow past recipients of the award to nominate new candidates. A debriefing of the Olmert protest occupied some of our discussion along with reading some of the excellent articles provided by Lou I. It was a useful and productive meeting with each of us knowing  a little more  about U.S. law our government routinely breaks to provide arms and military assistance in violation of the law and common decency. We also discussed meeting with other VFP Chapters to become more effective regionally.
