Members of Veterans For Peace joined with Grannies For Peace, Schenectady Neighbors For Peace, the Saratoga Peace Alliance and others to protest the wars in the Middle East and the failing U.S economy while President Obama courted some of the business community elites inside a heavily guarded G.E. building in Schenectady, New York. He appointed the GE CEO as a business advisor from a company that has more than half of its work force overseas and is closing U.S. plants regularly. The prognosis is continued failure for the U.S. economy while corporate elites will continue to profit. Schenectady, NY is a city in steep decline and there is no turn around in sight.
